Dr. Angus Creech is a senior research scientist at Acadia University. He has worked in wind and tidal energy research for over 20 years, modelling wind farms, tidal turbines and tidal straits using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and supercomputers. He is an adjunct professor at Acadia University, Dalhousie University and a Visiting Academic at Heriot-Watt. He is also managing director of Cairnsmore Scientific, a Nova-Scotia based consultancy that specializes in high performance computing, CFD and renewable energy.
He has led academic-industrial collaborations with multinational energy companies such as Vattenfall AB and Scottish Power Renewables, and has provided consulting services to the media and the energy industry. He has also worked for the Digital Research Alliance of Canada as a Technical Solutions Specialist, addressing academic and business needs in high performance computing.
Dr. Creech emigrated to Nova Scotia from Scotland in 2022 with his family. In his spare time, he tries to interest his daughters in math and physics.
