Fred Scott is a coastal engineer at Baird, specializing in the numerical modeling of waves, currents, and storm surge for coastal and offshore environments. He holds a Master of Science in Coastal Engineering and Management from Delft University of Technology. At Baird, Mr. Scott’s work spans data analysis, construction observation, and modeling to support resilient coastal infrastructure. He has led technical and managerial roles on a range of complex projects, including a Navigation Safety Risk Assessment for an offshore wind development in the U.S. Northeast, and conducting flood risk assessments driven by tropical cyclones. His conference presentation will explore methodologies for estimating wave and wind conditions during extreme storm events, providing insights into how these models inform design criteria and for offshore renewable energy developments.
