Natalie Gilson is an ocean storyteller and strategist on a mission to use creativity to help save the ocean.
With a decade of experience in the creative industry, expertise in creative direction, and recognition as an award-winning brand designer, Natalie is a leader in breaking down barriers for ocean projects through impactful communications and storytelling that sparks inspiration and drives positive impact.
As Co-owner and CEO of Pisces, Natalie is dedicated to meeting ocean projects where they’re at, whether they’re at the spark of innovation or in the midst of implementation. Her approach brings together techniques from branding, marketing, communication, design thinking, and strategic planning. She combines these skills with a deep passion for the ocean and understanding of the ocean industry to offer something truly unique: communications services tailor-made to support impactful ocean projects.
Natalie’s connection to the ocean started at a young age during trips to Canada’s West Coast with her family, though it wasn’t until 2020 that a career shift led her to bring her passion to the forefront and dive headfirst into a career in the ocean industry.
Living in Nova Scotia, Natalie is only a short distance away from the ocean, where she enjoys coastal hikes, paddle boarding, and scuba diving, as well as teaching her two children to respect and appreciate the ocean.
Natalie believes that powerful storytelling can shift narratives, build momentum, and connect people to the ocean in ways that inspire meaningful change. As Pisces expands its impact, she is focused on positioning the company as a global leader in ocean communications – one that not only helps ocean projects succeed, but ensures their stories are seen, heard, and supported. Under her leadership, Pisces is highlighting the critical role that creativity, communications, and behind-the-scenes support play in driving impact.
