Richard Morykot, P.Eng, – Vice President, Strategic Development and Execution, Atlantic Canada Bulk Terminal (ACBT)
Richard is a seasoned Professional Engineer based in Sydney, Nova Scotia, with over 30 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Technical University of Nova Scotia, graduating in 1992.
Richard began his career in consulting engineering before transitioning to the Nova Scotia Public Service Sector in 2000. There, he led engineering and construction initiatives tied to the remediation of the Sydney Tar Ponds, one of Canada’s most complex environmental cleanup projects.
In 2007, Richard joined CBCL Limited, where he managed the firm’s Sydney operations and provided strategic support to key clients across Atlantic Canada. During his 16-year tenure, he was involved in numerous large-scale, marine-related infrastructure projects—including the development of new marine terminals and the modernization of existing facilities. His work increasingly focused on the evolving needs of the offshore wind industry, as he advised companies assessing Atlantic Canadian ports for use as marshaling yards.
In the fall of 2023, Richard joined the Atlantic Canada Bulk Terminal (ACBT) as Vice President of Strategic Development and Execution. He is currently spearheading efforts to position ACBT as a critical asset in the offshore wind supply chain. ACBT is a 110-acre marine terminal in Sydney, Nova Scotia, uniquely suited to support offshore wind projects on the East Coast of North America. Richard is committed to advancing the offshore wind sector in Atlantic Canada and looks forward to collaborating with regional stakeholders to build a robust and integrated supply chain.
