Zach Jylkka joined the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) in May 2025 as a Senior Program Manager. In this role, Zach leads the Science, Research, and Analysis Program for MassCEC’s Offshore Energy Team, overseeing a broad grant portfolio covering projects related to the intersection of offshore energy and technology, fisheries, protected species, and socioeconomics. Before joining MassCEC, Zach spent over a decade working for the U.S. Federal government, most recently for the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, where he led the Gulf of Maine offshore wind commercial planning and leasing process. From 2014-2021, Zach worked for the National Marine Fisheries Service, focusing on the management and protection of endangered species. Zach has a BA in Sociology from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, and a Master’s of Environmental Science and Management from the Bren School at UC Santa Barbara.
