Dr. Federico Pisanò is Manager of Energy Transition & Emerging Markets at NGI and leads the Boston office, driving business development and expanding NGI’s technical and R&D portfolio across emerging markets in the Americas. He is a Principal Geotechnical Engineer with over 15 years of international experience across research, teaching, and consulting. After serving as a faculty member at Delft University of Technology, where he led education and research in offshore geotechnics, he transitioned to NGI to bridge innovation and engineering practice in offshore wind. His expertise includes advanced numerical modelling, cyclic soil behavior, and soil–structure interaction, with a focus on foundation systems for offshore energy. He holds a Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano (Italy) and has authored over 100 technical publications. He is Vice-Chair of the ISSMGE technical committee on Offshore Geotechnics (TC209), Associate Editor of the ASCE Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering, and active in ISO/API and SUT committees.
