Blake Holowaty is a Research Engineer focusing on mechanical design and oceanographic simulations at the Pacific Regional Institute for Marine Energy Discovery (PRIMED). He is an EIT, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Victoria. Blake’s expertise lies in Computer-Aided Design where he creates detailed mechanical models and engineering drawings, and ProteusDS where he simulates surface objects and moorings in a marine environment. Blake first attended the 2025 Marine Renewables Canada conference in Halifax where he gained valuable knowledge about marine energy projects happening across the country. He has presented at the Marine Technology Society Workshop, and is excited for the opportunity to present and share his passion for marine renewables with those attending this year’s MRC conference.
