Caron Hawco is a nationally respected consultant and strategist with over 25 years of experience in stakeholder engagement, energy sector communications, and industry-driven diversity and inclusion initiatives. A long-time champion of inclusive economic development, Caron has led national and regional projects focused on increasing the participation of Indigenous, women-led, and equity-deserving businesses in clean energy, offshore wind, and ocean industries.
She served as a lead consultant for Marine Renewables Canada’s 2024 Atlantic Supply Chain Study, which included a groundbreaking analysis of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the region’s onshore and offshore wind supply chains. Caron also led the development of a National Action Plan to Increase Women’s Participation in Canada’s Blue Economy, as well as spearheaded diversity engagement strategies for energy projects, and facilitated roundtables with industry leaders on inclusive procurement practices.
Her insights are informed by hands-on experience supporting energy developers, Indigenous organizations, government stakeholders, and economic development agencies. Caron regularly advises clients on how to embed DEI into supplier engagement strategies, benefits agreements, and regulatory frameworks to drive measurable and meaningful impact.
