Dr. Freeman Ralph joined C-CORE in 1999, and is presently VP Oceans and Energy having over 25 years of offshore oil and gas and alternative energy expertise. Originating from Port de Grave, Freeman has a strong interest and ties to Newfoundland’s fishing industry. His expertise includes ice and metocean environment characterization, loads on ships and offshore structures, probabilistic and reliability-based design, as well as protection of subsea infrastructure including geotechnical considerations. Freeman serves as a board member for Oceans Advance as well as an Offshore Floating Wind Committee member of the International Ship Structures Congress (ISSC). Outside work, Freeman enjoys fishing and hunting, boating, RVing, and motorcycle riding.
