Heather Giddens is a Senior Associate at Stantec Consulting Ltd. in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She has over 25 years’ experience in assessment and permitting and providing strategic regulatory advice to various public and private organizations in the energy, transportation and mining sectors. Heather specializes in environmental impact assessment, having led or participated in numerous project-specific impact assessments, strategic environmental assessments, and regional assessments over the course of her career, many of which were related to offshore oil and gas exploration and development in Atlantic Canada. As the Canada East Technical Area Leader for Assessment and Permitting, Heather collaborates with other technical leaders to drive quality and innovation in Stantec’s assessment and permitting practice. Heather holds a Bachelor of Science (Biology) from Acadia University and a Master of Environmental Studies from Dalhousie University.
