Dr. Stephanie Avery-Gomm is a conservation scientist with Environment and Climate Change Canada’s Wildlife and Landscape Science Directorate. Her research focuses on assessing and managing the impacts of human activities on coastal ecosystems, with a particular emphasis on cumulative effects. By partnering with academics, First Nations, conservation organizations, and government agencies, she ensures her work has a tangible conservation impact. Most recently, Dr. Avery-Gomm has led efforts to develop and demonstrate a flexible framework for assessing the cumulative impacts of offshore wind energy development on migratory birds in Atlantic Canada to support the sustainable growth of this emerging industry.
